Stack.M1 data center is the central component of SDN network which was put into operation in 2006. According to Jonson&Partners and “Modern Telecommunications”, this site is the largest and most marketable in Russia outsourcing technological site designed to provide high quality outsourcing services based on fault-tolerant data centers. Its total square exceeds 3000 square meters of which 2500 square meters are occupied by three server rooms with loading capacity of 5-8 kW per rack. The loading capacity of racks with substandard equipment may be increased to 8 kW.
Below are the key advantages of Stack.M1:
Sound power supply system is capable of maintaining optimum conditions for engineering systems and ICT-equipment despite problems with mains power. It consists of a set of 2 farms including 8 UPS units (4 units of 600 kVA each and 4 units of 800 kVA each) and four diesel generators (2 units of 2200 kW each and 2 units of 1600 kW each). 3+1 (3 + 1 “necessary + 1 redundant) approach has been applied to provide for redundancy of each farm
External electric power is supplied from 4 different power supply sources and distributed via 4 transformers of 1600 kVA each and 2 transformers of 1250 kVA each
Capacity of UPS batteries is sufficient to provide autonomous power supply for the time period exceeding the time period required to start diesel-generators and full transfer of the data center onto autonomous power supply. The capacity of diesel-generators is sufficient for parallel operation of the whole Stack.M1 equipment and charging all UPS batteries
Server rooms are equipped with climate control systems for precision air conditioning and balanced ventilation
Climate control system maintains air temperature and humidity in the data center work premises in accordance with international standards (22 ± 5 degrees Celsius, humidity 45 ±5 %)
Air-conditioners are operating on an N+2 basis which means that if two air-conditioners fail to operate, the humidity level and temperature in the computing premises of the data center remain unchanged
Due to balanced ventilation system installed in the data center, there is no dust in the server room. Pollution and, consequently, overheating of network and server equipment has been fully eliminated
Air containment system in the cold aisles allows to maintain temperature from 17 to 19 degrees Celsius from access floor to false ceiling
The data center is equipped with all necessary telecommunications resources to supply telecommunication links from any provider located in the two main Moscow traffic exchange points – M9, M10. Moreover, direct fiber-optic cables of telecom providers are available in the data center (list of telecom providers).
Two wide-area fiber-optic communication lines (FOL) are introduced into the building of the data center.
All premises and adjacent territory of Stack.M1 data center are guarded 24/7
Customers and personnel in server rooms and auxiliary premises (premises for on-duty operators, monitoring centers, rooms to perform works with equipment and etc) are controlled by means of dual access control system and individual access cards. Access to outside perimeter with common and auxiliary premises is possible with individual access cards
The data center is equipped with CCTV system which tracks video received from entry/exit door areas, aisles, racks, electrical and engineering systems, as well as adjacent territories. Independent on-line video surveillance over customer`s equipment with video data transmission to customer`s security service is possible
All premises of Stack.M1 hosting customer systems are equipped with water-tight covering and drain holes to prevent flooding. Floor decks are made of reinforced concrete. Loading capacity of access floor is not less than 1000 kg per square meter (2200 lbs). Higher loading capacity of up to 2000 kg per square meter (4400 lbs) is possible. The ceiling height is 2.7 meters (106 inches or approx. 8.85 feet). There are no windows in server premises. All finishing materials are manufactured of incombustible materials
Server premises of the data center are equipped with automatic fire suppression gaseous system
Specialists of maintenance service who do the monitoring of server and telecommunications equipment deployed in the data center, as well as telecommunications links, electrical and engineering systems are available in Stack.M1 and the other SDN data centers on a round-the-clock basis
Specially equipped client room is made for customers` convenience, as well as to provide for additional measures of physical security in Stack.M1 data center. All necessary conditions for round-the-clock planned preventative maintenance and repair works of customers` hardware and/or software (KVM-technology is usually applied to work with applications) have been provided. Depending on the tasks and customer these works can be performed either by customer`s employees or Stack Group qualified personnel. Customers are offered local storage room cells for rent
Most of Stack.M1 operating parameters is available in the other Stack Data Network data centers. SDN includes Stack.M1 and Stack.HTH in Moscow and Stack.P1 100 km away from Moscow Ring Highway (MKAD)
